Facade Program

The Facade Program is designed to promote the rehabilitation and restoration of the existing commercial buildings in the downtown by providing matching grants for qualifying exterior building improvements. Matching grant reimbursements are now available for up to $150,000, or its equivalent, per project. Additionally, properties that are designated as a landmark and/or participate in a designated district qualify to participate in both the Facade Improvement Program and the Rehabilitation Grant Program.

TIF District Map - Only properties located within the TIF (tax increment financing) District are eligible for this program.

Fire Life & Safety System Grant Program

The Village of Plainfield and the Plainfield Fire Protection District worked together to develop the Fire Life & Safety System Grant Program. This program provides financial assistance for the implementation of eligible fire, life, and safety improvements to commercial and/or mixed-use buildings in the traditional downtown area.
