Forestry is responsible for maintaining a healthy urban forest. This is accomplished by developing and carrying out a seven year trimming cycle (some varieties of trees and younger trees may need to be trimmed more frequently). Tree inspections are done on a regular basis to insure that trees are safe and healthy. Removals are required when a tree's condition poses a hazard to life or property.
