The Planning Division assists residents, businesses, and developers with  the administration of zoning/development codes as well as the economic development functions of the Village to attract new businesses while retaining those that are established in Plainfield.  Other responsibilities include reviewing permits for zoning compliance, development plan reviews, long-range planning (Comprehensive Plan, Riverfront Master Plan, etc.), the administration of the Plan Commission, the Zoning Board of Appeals, the Historic Preservation Commission and the creation and administration of economic assistance programs or incentives.  

Please submit requests for service – such as zoning, floodplain inquiries, and special service area (SSA) releases – via email or by phone at (815) 439-2824.

You may submit zoning applications via email, drop them off at the Village Hall, or by mail/delivery service.
