Liquor
The Clerk's Office issues Liquor Licenses to retailers who sell, give away, or dispense any alcoholic liquor in the Village. The President of the Village is the Local Liquor Commissioner and receives as compensation the sum of $1,500.00 annually.

Video Gaming
The Village of Plainfield approved Ordinance No. 3641 allowing video gaming. The ordinance defines licensed establishments as: Any licensed retail establishment where alcoholic liquor is drawn, poured, mixed or otherwise served for consumption on the licensed premises and the primary purpose of the establishment is the sale of food and alcohol for consumption on the premises. A licensed establishment shall not include a licensed truck stop establishment, licensed large truck stop establishment, as those terms are defined in the Video Gaming Act, or any person or establishment licensed pursuant to Village Code to sell alcoholic liquor at retail for consumption solely off the licensed premises, or on the licensed premises at a package store, gas station, and/or convenience/grocery store. Additionally, the ordinance identifies that Village of Plainfield Video Gaming licenses will not be issued or to any person operating a business within a gas station, truck fueling center, or truck stop, regardless of the nature of that business.
There are two Village of Plainfield Video Gaming Applications; one for the local business establishment and one for the Terminal Operator/Distributor. LOCAL BUSINESSES AND DISTRIBUTORS will need to obtain a Village of Plainfield Video Gaming License prior to turning on any video gaming terminals. You must obtain an Illinois Video Gaming License FIRST. A copy of your Illinois Video Gaming License will need to be submitted with the application for a Village of Plainfield Gaming License. Please refer to Ordinance No. 3641 for information relating to the maximum number of terminals, location of terminals, customer seating, and eligibility. Prior to issuing a Village of Plainfield Gaming License, a site visit will be required.

Tobacco Products
Licenses are required for the retail sale of cigarettes, cigars, or tobacco in any form. Applications for such license shall be made to the Village Clerk and the annual fee is $250.00.
Garbage
Licenses for the business of scavenger or garbage collection are also secured through the Village Clerk's office. The fee for a garbage license is $50.00 per year.
