The guidelines below are helpful when applying for or considering a special event, block party, or other open air event within the Village of Plainfield. Additional information regarding these ordinances or guidelines may be found in the Village's Municipal Code, or by contacting Commander Novak at the Plainfield Police Department.
Special Events
Groups wishing to hold a special event in the Village of Plainfield must complete the Special Event Permit Application. Applications must be submitted at least 60 days prior to the event.
Block Parties
All parties interested in holding a Block Party on a street within the Village must complete a Block Party Street Closure Request Form at least seven (7) days prior to the Block Party occurring.
Loud Speaker/Amplification Permits
All special events or gatherings that involve the playing or amplification of music or other noise must submit a Loud Speaker/Amplification Permit Application. Applications must be submitted at least seven (7) business days prior to the event and are available at the Plainfield Police Department. A minimal fee is required with the application.
Open Air Meetings
Groups interested in hosting an open air event on public property that will include speakers, or other discussion involving matters of common interest, with an anticipated gathering exceeding twenty-five (25) persons shall be required to submit an Open Air Meeting Application at least seven (7) days prior to the event.
