The population of the Village of Plainfield has increased from 4,557 in 1990 to over 44,000 people in 2021. The Village is currently adding over 250 new single-family homes per year with an additional 1,000 apartment units coming online in 2022. Plainfield continues to add new developments with Costco Wholesale opening in November 2021 at the Boulevard Place, a new Rod Baker Ford Dealership coming in 2022, a new Aldi in 2022, Belle Tire in late 2021, and more to come.
